Re:ANIME respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects the people who use the site to do the same. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) sets out a process for claims of copyright infringement; this page explains how that process applies to Re:ANIME.
What Re:ANIME hosts
Re:ANIME does not host, upload or store any video files. The site is a catalog: it lists titles, episodes and metadata, and embeds players served by third-party services that Re:ANIME does not control. A file can only be removed by the service that hosts it, so a notice about a file must go to that service’s abuse or DMCA channel, which every hosting provider publishes.
What a notice must contain
A notice concerning a listing on Re:ANIME that embeds infringing material is only complete with:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
- The URL on Re:ANIME where the material is embedded, and a description of the material itself.
- Your name, your title if you act for the owner, your address, telephone number and email address.
- The statement: “I have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted material I am complaining of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
- The statement: “The information in this notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright or of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
- Your electronic or physical signature.
What can be acted on
A complete notice about a listing is reviewed and, where it holds, the embed is removed from that listing. A notice that is incomplete, or that concerns a file Re:ANIME does not host, cannot be acted on here.
